Mobile Battery Fitting

Mobile Battery Fitting in Ringwood

Ringwood town centre fills on market days, which makes an ordinary battery fitting harder than it sounds. The car is often in a bay that is really meant for a quick shop, and a working van needs more room for longer. We agree where we can stand before setting off. On the technical side, if the vehicle is used mainly for short runs around the town it may never reach a full charge, which is worth knowing because it changes how often this tends to happen again.

HOW WE WORK

How we fit a battery

  1. 01

    Identify the type

Stop-start and AGM batteries are not interchangeable, so we confirm the specification from your registration first.

  2. 02

    Agree the price

You know the cost of the battery and the fitting before anything is touched.

  3. 03

    Fit on site

We fit the battery wherever the vehicle is — drive, workplace or car park.

  4. 04

    Test and recycle

We check the charging system and take the old battery away for recycling.

THE SITUATION

A flat battery on market day

Market day again, and the vehicle was in a town-centre bay that had been full when the driver arrived. We asked them to walk to the edge of the car park before we set off, which is the advice we give on any busy day here, and it is why this job went smoothly rather than becoming a conversation about bay availability. The battery was conventional on an older car, tested and replaced. What made the call memorable was the bonnet: it had been propped with a spanner for years, and the prop had been sitting in a tray of rainwater in the van. We removed it, cleared the corrosion off the hinge, and showed the driver the proper release. A small thing, but a bonnet dropped in Ringwood town centre traffic would not have been small.

QUESTIONS

Questions about battery in Ringwood

My car will not start in Ringwood — could it be the alternator?

It is possible, but a flat battery is the more common cause and much the cheaper one. Send the registration and a photo of the battery bay and we will assess it before coming out.

Do you supply the battery?

Yes. We supply and fit, so you are not left with a part to fit yourself.

Can you come out at night?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 and we are dispatched within 30 minutes.

LOCAL ADVICE

Practical advice for Ringwood

  • If the bay you are in is busy, walk to the edge of the car park before you call. It saves the conversation and it saves us the time.
  • A bonnet held up with a prop wears the hinge and the release. A five-minute fix that costs a great deal if the bonnet drops in traffic.
  • On a market day, get to the edge of the car park. The bays in the middle fill early, and if the vehicle has to be moved to somewhere a van can work we would rather agree it by phone first.
